State vs 38 convicts — 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts case

38 members of the Indian Mujahideen terror outfit were convicted and sentenced to death by a special court in February 2022 for their involvement in the Ahmedabad blasts. The high court rejected all appeals and upheld the death sentences in a judgment citing the scale of terror and conspiracy.

The Supreme Court upheld an NGT order dismissing a challenge by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board regarding environmental liability for an unlicensed dye-based manufacturing facility operating on rented premises. The facility was generating harmful effluents in excess of permissible limits into water streams. The NGT had directed closure and imposed a ₹25 lakh penalty, finding that the property owner could not be held solely liable for the tenant's violations.

A 25-year-old man named Rafikul Alam from Assam was arrested by Gujarat CID's Cyber Centre for his alleged involvement in a digital arrest cyber fraud network. He is linked to 1,090 digital arrest cyber fraud cases worth Rs 1,071 crore across India. Three FIRs were registered against him under the Information Technology Act.
