Actor Darshan and multiple co-accused are charged in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024. The Karnataka High Court granted bail to Darshan and co-accused on December 13, 2024, which the State of Karnataka appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court reserved judgment on the State's appeal on July 24, 2025.

Former AAP MLA Naresh Balyan was discharged by Delhi court in an extortion and criminal conspiracy case. The court found significant lacunae in the investigation, including lack of seizure of the complainant's mobile phone and lack of authenticity of electronic evidence. MCOCA was invoked against gangster Sangwan in connection with the extortion case.

Siya Goyal stands accused of murdering her fiancé, 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, along with her associate Chetan Chaudhary. The CBI filed a chargesheet in 2009 naming former Union minister and NCP heavyweight Padamsinh Patil as the prime accused and alleged conspirator, claiming a conspiracy due to apprehensions about political career damage and anger over corruption allegations. Eight accused, including Patil, were acquitted.
