A. Raja and five others are facing charges in a disproportionate assets case investigated by the CBI. The CBI's Chennai unit filed a chargesheet in 2022, and the case proceeded before a special court. The Madras High Court dismissed Raja's plea challenging the case.

The CBI registered an FIR in July 2022 alleging that Delhi's Excise Policy 2021-22 was manipulated to facilitate monopolisation and cartelisation of the liquor trade, with AAP leaders allegedly receiving kickbacks from liquor manufacturers. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) separately registered a money laundering case under PMLA. On 27 February 2026, the Rouse Avenue Special Court (PC Act) discharged all 23 accused — including former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia — holding that no prima facie case was made out and criticising the CBI's investigation. The CBI has since challenged the discharge order before the Delhi High Court — that revision is currently being heard by Justice Manoj Jain after Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma withdrew following contempt proceedings she had initiated against the accused. A parallel ED/PMLA case remains active at the Rouse Avenue Court, the hearing of which was directed to be deferred pending the High Court's disposal of the CBI revision.

Prakash Industries Limited (PIL) is accused of obtaining Chotia and Fatehpur coal block allocations through fraud and misrepresentation in applications. The case involves allegations of submitting false documents to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, generating proceeds of crime through coal extraction and sale, and money laundering via share price manipulation and property acquisition. The Supreme Court cancelled the allocations in 2014. PIL remains accused (not convicted) across CBI/corruption cases and ED/PMLA enforcement proceedings, with ongoing trials and appellate litigation in the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.

The Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate filed appeals in the Delhi High Court challenging the December 2017 acquittal of former telecom minister A Raja, DMK MP K Kanimozhi, and 17 others in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case. In March 2024, the Delhi High Court admitted the CBI's leave to appeal after six years and 125 listings. The appeals are currently at the stage of hearings on admissibility and substantive grounds.

The Coal Block Allocation cases, originating from the Supreme Court's 2014 judgment in Manohar Lal Sharma v. Principal Secretary (W.P.(Crl.) 120/2012), concern alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks between 1993 and 2011 under the 'Government Dispensation' route, which the Supreme Court declared arbitrary and illegal. CBI has prosecuted numerous accused — including former Ministry of Coal officials and private companies — before Special Courts in Delhi — the Directorate of Enforcement has simultaneously pursued PMLA cases. As of 2025–2026, trials remain ongoing before Special Courts in Delhi (Rouse Avenue Courts), the Supreme Court continues to supervise and reconstitute benches for batch SLP hearings, the Delhi High Court has ruled on key PMLA questions, and individual sub-cases have seen both acquittals and discharges. All accused persons are presumed innocent unless a court has delivered a final conviction.

CBI arrested IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal in connection with an alleged Rs 657-crore fraud involving IDFC First Bank. Chargesheets have been filed against five bankers, one CSCL official, and one private individual. The case involves suspected financial misconduct at multiple levels.
